Now open! Why War is a highly interactive media rich exhibit that explores the roots of military confrontations throughout our nation’s history.

Dynamic large-scale touchscreens, engaging infographics, and rare historical artifacts examine conflict through the lenses of inciting factors, key figures, technology, and pop culture to demonstrate the common causes of war. Why War’s engaging interactives let families, community groups, and school classes choose how they want to explore this complex topic.

FHCAM is looking for Volunteers
FHCAM is looking for volunteers for the 2017 event season! If you love to spend time around perfectly restored and operational airplanes and military vehicles, this is the perfect opportunity for you! FHC is an event-based institution that hosts over a dozen public-facing events during the year. Our volunteers do everything from hanging out with the artifacts to managing crowds on the airstrip while our planes fly overhead. With so much going on, you will never be bored here in our expansive hangars. Benefits of becoming a volunteer include:

Aviation Day
On Saturday, May 20, 2017, the Washington Pilots Association, Paine Field Airport, Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, and Historic Flight Foundation will host the 22nd Annual Paine Field Aviation Day from 10am - 5pm.

  • Kick off the event with a 5k run/walk
  • Follow up with the Firefighters Pancake Breakfast (benefitting charity)
  • Free Young Eagles introductory flights for youth ages 8-17—first-come-first-served and space is limited
  • Aircraft from the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum, Historic Flight Foundation and Cascade Warbirds fly from noon to 1:30pm
  • Several local food vendors
